The present project was designed to study the prevalence of ABO blood groups in Leukemia patients. For this purpose, 260 blood samples of leukemia patients were collected from April 2011- July 2011 and their blood groups were determined by a simple and widely used method blood typing using Anti-A serum, Anti-B serum and Anti-D serum. It was noted that out of 260 samples taken, 154 were taken from male and 106 were taken from females who had leukemia. The percentage of male and female was 59.2% and 40.8% respectively. The prevalence of types of leukemia was also noted. Out of 260 patients, 248 had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and 12 were having Acute Myelogenous Luekemia (AML). The percentage for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia was 95.4% and %age for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia was 4.6%. The number of patients with blood groups A, B, AB, and O was 67, 90, 41 and 62 respectively. The highest prevalence was noted in blood group B i.e. 34.6% followed by blood group A 25.8%, then O 23.8% and AB 15.8%. The prevalence of Rh positive among leukemia patients was found to be 96.1% i.e. out of 260 patients 250 were Rh positive and prevalence of Rh negative was 3.9% i.e. 10 patients.

ABO Cast Grading

With the increasing popularity of digital models in orthodontics today, the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) is considering allowing digital models to replace plaster models during the Phase III evaluation process. Digital models offer the convenience of minimal storage requirements, easiertransport, and less potential for damage. Cases could be submitted electronically and graded inadvance, which would significantly lighten theworkload on ABO examiners during the exam.In order for digital models to become an acceptable alternative, they must accurately represent the patients dentition and they must be able to be graded using the ABO Objective Grading System. Many studies have demonstrated excellent accuracy with these models, but until recently, there has been no way to grade them. Currently there are two digital imaging companies that have developed software with ABO grading capability (Geodigm Corporation and Cadent Technologies). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and variability of grades obtained by theuse of computer software on digitized 3-dimensionalcasts using the American Board of OrthodonticsObjective Grading System.

Although there is considerable relationship between leprosy immunology and Haptoglobin gene regulatory mechanisms, it is hard to get research works on this area. This work is most probably the first which tried to link the clinicopathological forms of leprosy (which depend on the immune status of the host) and Haptoglobin concentration and polymorphism. Therefore, this book provides the analysis of Haptoglobin polymorphism, plasma Haptoglobin level, and ABO blood groups association with leprosy. The results show the elevation of Haptoglobin concentration in the plasma of leprosy patients along with clinic-pathological features as well as the bacterial load in patients. We believe such findings help scientific communities who work on clinical trials, immunology, serum protein properties and pathology.

The book sheds light on some profiles (histopathological classification, demographic presentation, ABO blood group polymorphism, cytogenetic analysis of cultured blood lymphocytes, serum level of estradiol, immunohistochemical evaluation of estrogen, progesterone, HER-1 and HER-2 receptors, tumor-infiltrating immune cells defined by CD4, CD8 and CD68 markers, tumor expression of T-bet, GATA3, IL-17A and FOXP3, and mutational change in exon 3 and exon 7 of estrogen- gene) of breast tumor (benign and malignant) in a sample of Iraqi female patients.

The present project was designed to study the prevalence of ABO and Rh blood groups in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in different hospitals and diabetic centers. For this purpose 300 blood samples of diabetic patients were collected and their blood groups were determined by using Anti-A serum, Anti-B serum and Anti-D serum. Some related parameters such as age, body mass index BMI, blood pressure and blood sugar of diabetic patients were also checked. It was noted that out of 300 blood samples, 176 were taken from male and 124 were taken from female who have type 2 diabetes, the %age of male was 58.6% and %age of female was 41.3% respectively. The number of patients with blood group A, B, AB and O were 36, 156, 14 and 94. The highest prevalence was noted in blood group B i.e. 52% followed by blood group O 31.3%, then A 12% and AB 4.6%. The prevalence of RhD positive among type 2 diabetic patients was found to be 92% i.e. out of 300 diabetic patients 276 were RhD positive and prevalence of RhD negative was 8% i.e. 24 patients.
